Dog friendly self-catering in Wales you won’t believe

Travel | No comments

We don’t think you should have to leave your pooch at home (or in kennels) when you travel. Thankfully, you don’t have to if you travel with Stena Line and stay in dog friendly self-catering accommodation in Wales. When we started looking, we really could not believe how many options there were. No matter what kind of holiday you are looking for with your family and furry friend, we bet there is something you would love:

Glamping

If camping is your thing, inject a bit of glamour into your holiday by staying at one of the many dog friendly glamping sites around Wales. Accommodation options range from traditional Welsh shepherd huts to Mongolian yurts and wooden lodges with plenty of room for your dog.

Coastal cottage

If you are looking for a more solid structure and want to soak up some of Wales’ gorgeous coastline, then a dog friendly self-catering cottage is for you. These cosy boltholes often come with an open fire or stove, the perfect place for Rover to snooze after a long day out exploring with you.

Canal boat

Looking for something different this year? Take in the beautiful Welsh countryside from the comfort of your own narrow boat. The best news is your doggie can come along on this self-catering option. A great one for water loving breads but don’t forget to bring extra towels!

King of the Castle

Bringing your dog does not mean sacrificing luxury on your stay. We were blown away to find you can stay in a Welsh castle with your family dog. Check out the Craig y Nos Castle  website, written by castle dog Jack. It contains everything your dog needs to know for a fabulous stay including the best walks in the area, where they can go in the grounds and even where they can go for grooming if they need some pampering on their break away. OK, so it isn’t dog friendly self-catering but we couldn’t leave out this family owned and run B&B.

There you have it, there is no need to leave Fido in lonely kennels anymore, book Stena Line to Wales and there are any number of dog friendly accommodation options for the entire family.

We look forward to welcoming you on-board.
